The minimum fish size limits for catch and take specified in the table apply for all fishing districts managed by the Renče Angling Society. Fish are measured from the most forward point of the head to the farthest tip of the tail fin.
In the Vipava fishing district the daily catch limit is three salmonids, of which no more than one can be a rainbow trout over 50 cm, one grayling over 35 cm and one hybrid over 45 cm.
When fishing for salmonids (Vipava River fishing district: salmonid and miscellaneous part) the use of extra weight on the leader line and the use of bite alarms and indicators is strictly forbidden.
Fishermen must keep the harvested fish in his or her bag until the end of the fishing day.

In the Vipava River (cyprinid part) and Lake Vogršček fishing districts it is allowed to fish with all baits of vegetal or animal origin, except the bone worm and animal blood. On a fishing day it is allowed to catch 5 coarse fish, among which a maximum of: two carps or one pike or eight Danubian nases or two wels fish per day. One coarse fish is equal to 30 bleaks, roaches or perches.
Crayfish, frogs, mussels, cyclostomes and turtles are protected ALL YEAR round.
On the whole of the Lake Vogršček it is strictly forbidden to take carps that are longer than 75 cm.
